Hello and welcome to Yellow Journals.
I created this website as a platform to share my thoughts and experiences in a form of writing.
A lot of people ask me why I decided to start writing – I feel that sometimes we can get too lost in our own heads, and I felt that writing down my own thoughts help me get a clearer perspective and express myself freely.
A little background about me if you are so curious. I was born in the Philippines and my family decided to move to New Zealand when I was 15. A year and a half later, my Mom decided to go back to the Philippines, but I fell in love with New Zealand, so I decided to stay and live here on my own. I was working and flatting at 16, and when I finished high school, I was lucky enough to get a full time job working for a government department. You may not believe this, but I am what you call a “tax collector”. Don’t worry, it’s not as scary as it sounds. I have been living in New Zealand for 7 years now, and absolutely loving it here. It’s an amazing country that so much to offer.
I’ve only recently just started writing and decided to submit my work to Thought Catalog. To my surprise, it got published! I was really thrilled, and it inspired me to continue writing. I started receiving so many positive responses, from emails to Instagram messages thanking me for my writing! I don’t know why, because I feel like I should be thanking them for even reading my work! But that’s when I decided to create this site and I’ve been writing ever since.
I hope that my pieces inspire you to become the best version of yourself, and to remember that it’s okay not to be okay sometimes. We fall but we rise, like we always do.
With much love,
